Karus Mining Announces Changes to Leadership and Board

Vancouver, British Columbia — April 9, 2026 (TheNewswire)

Karus Mining Inc. announces the departure of its Chief Executive Officer, the appointment of an Interim CEO, and the appointment of a new director to the Karus Board of Directors.

The Board is pleased to announce the immediate appointment of Sébastien Bernier to the Board of Directors. Mr. Bernier brings 25 years of industry and technical experience, most recently with Allied Gold Corporation and Yamana Gold Inc. An expert in geological modelling and resource estimation, he is currently Senior Vice President, Technical Services for Allied Gold Corporation. His past experience includes increasingly senior roles with Yamana, Pan American Silver, SRK Consulting and FNX Mining.

Effective immediately, Mr. Jason Bahnsen will step down from the position of CEO of Karus. Andrew Kaip, a current Director of Karus, will assume the position of Interim CEO while the Company conducts a search for a permanent CEO. Mr. Kaip is a founder and former CEO of Karus, and as an experienced geologist he will help define and implement the exploration plan for both the South Cariboo District and Mineral Creek projects. He has 30+ years of geology, financial-market and management experience, and is tasked with completing the CSE listing process and launching Karus' 2026 exploration programs.

The Karus Board would like to thank Mr. Bahnsen for his service and wish him well in his future endeavors. Mr. Bahnsen has agreed to work with Mr. Kaip to provide a smooth transition. Mr. Kaip's primary focus will be to advance the Company through the final stages of listing and prepare for 2026 exploration activities at the Company's South Cariboo District and Mineral Creek properties.

Tony Cina, Chairman of the Board

The addition of Mr. Bernier brings another level of experience and expertise to Karus that will be consequential in forming a viable and executable drilling strategy at both Mineral Creek and South Cariboo Gold District.

Andrew Kaip, Interim CEO

About Karus Mining
